AIA Photo Contest 2012

I recently entered the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) Photo Contest. For the competition I selected a photo that I took in 2009 from the Middle Horizon (A.D. 500-1000) site of Cerro Baul in the Moquegua Valley of Peru. Cerro Baul is a hilltop fortress belonging to the Wari culture. The photo can be found under the category “Archaeological Sites” and it is entitled “Cerro Baul.” You can vote HERE.

You can vote daily from now until October 15. The photos with the most votes are included in the AIA Annual Calendar and the lucky photographer receives a complimentary one year membership to the AIA–a prestigious archaeological community.

Please do check out the other photos as well, they are impressive and tons of fun! Your help and support are much appreciated as always.
